Savannah, GA is one of my favorite places for a weekend getaway or a week-long stay. It’s a beautiful city filled with historic charm. The city is walkable making it easy to explore or if you prefer you can book a trolly ride to see the sites.
Spend the day strolling through the historical squares near Forsyth Park, soaking in the beauty of the old homes and tree-lined streets. Shop along Jones Street, known for its Southern elegance. For a more touristy vibe, head to River Street, where you’ll find plenty of shops and dining options along the Riverfront. Savannah has no shortage in restaurants, there is always something new and delicious to chose from. Looking for a relaxing day at the beach, Hilton Head or Tybee Island are just a short drive from Savannah.
On our most recent visit, we stayed at The Bellwether House, a charming and luxurious bed and breakfast just once block from Forsyth Park. It’s now at the top of my list for future stays in Savannah. We were welcomed with a complimentary champaign toast in the evening and treated to a delightful breakfast the next morning-Southern hospitality at its finest.
September 2025: We just got back from another trip down to Savannah, GA and there was no question on where we were going to stay. You feel welcome and relaxed the moment you walk in. I love the quaintness of the Bellwether House.
